Town Centre Tour

Rother FM is heading on the road on our Town Centre Tour, keep listening the next event will be announced soon.

Massive thank you to the Thristy Flame on Whitehill Lane, Brinsworth, Rotherham. The Town Centre Tour used their site for an Easter Egg Giveaway. Thanks to everyone who came down, hope you enjoyed your Easter Egg courtesy of the Rother FM Town Centre Tour, check out the photos here .

Our very first event was on Thursday the 27th of Nov in All Saints Square, Rotherham Town Centre.

Week One, we set up in All Saint's Square and called for you to quote 'Shop Local' for your chance to win a range of prizes from our sponsors, all whilst JB broadcast his Breakfast Show live from the caravan. Named envelopes had prizes enclosed, including one prize which led to us sadly saying goodbye to our much treasured, signed Lisa Stansfield photo. We hope she is happy in her new home. December saw the Town Centre Tour visit Maltby Academy

JB went back to his old school for the last day of term before they broke up for Christmas. We heard what he used to be like from some of his old teachers and as it was the last day of term we played some games for a selection of prizes from the tour sponsors. Check out the gallery here

In January we visited the Rotherham Titans ahead of the quarter final game against Leinster.

JB broadcast live from the front of the clubhouse from 8am on Sat the 24th of January. He played line out with all the guests and gave away prizes from our sponsors. JB particularly enjoyed meeting Deon in the clubhouse and trying the pie voted the leagues best. Have a look at all the photos from Rotherham Titans here

On February the 18th The Town Centre Tour visited The Tropical Butterfly House.

JB started the show in his old friend Shadow the caravan, fearing for the safety of the Town Centre Tour staff. JB was convinced that the lemurs would take unkindly to items of clothing that the staff were wearing. Once our winners had arrived JB proceeded to broadcast live from inside some of the enclosures in the Butterfly House. He met a host of Meerkats, Lemurs, Birds, a Tarantula and even faced his fear of Snakes. Check out the photos here.

Saturday the 21st March The Town Centre Tour visited The AES Seal New York Stadium ahead of the local Derby with Sheffield Wednesday

The show included exclusive interviews with Tony Stewart looking at the past, present and future of Rotherham United. We also played "Door or no Door" with prizes in the caravan cupboards from our sponsors. Have a look at the photos here

We’ve got goodies from shops including The Makers Emporium, Dance Ability, Caprice, Tesco, Quay Oak and Pine Furniture, Fitzwilliam and Hughes, Rotherham Hospice, PAK Supermarkets, Craft Corner and the Bear’s Den, Miele Delicatessen and MFS Furniture.

Friday April the 10th JB took his show on the road around Rotherham

JB started the show from his own kitchen asking listeners to get in touch if they would like a visit. After dropping his son at Nursery he was off to collect Tony and take him to work at the Rotherham Titans. There was a short delay when Shadow the caravan got a bit stuck (check out the photos here) letting some air out the tyres and a push from helpful rugby players got us back on the road. JB was just in time to meet Steve as he arrived at work, it was only Steve Evans arriving at the AES Seal New York Stadium. Then it was off to meet Val and the oldest cooker in Rotherham and finally meet James and Mark from Rotherham United Community Foundation at Wickersley School ahead of the Millers Masterclass Easter Soccer Camp.
