Rotherham Council Leader Slams CSE Report Outcomes As 'Sickening'

Rotherham Council Leader Chris Read doesn't feel any justice was achieved for the victims of the Rotherham CSE scandal yesterday.

In total six council commissioned reports were published on Wednesday, after the Jay Report found at least 1400 children were abused in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.

The independent investigations looked at how the authority handled historical child sex abuse cases. They addressed the performance, practice and conduct of senior employees at the council - investigations also took place into the alleged removal of computer records.

They found there is not enough evidence to take any action against those in charge at the council at the time, suggesting it was down more down to a "cock up than a conspiracy."

Rotherham CSE victim 'Elizabeth' - whose name we have changed - told us she wants to see former council staff and officials prosecuted.

She said she's disappointed justice isn't being done.
