Working in radio was always the job for me growing up. Getting to play great music every day for a living - Brilliant! After getting some much needed practice on hospital radio I started with a show on a Sunday night on my local radio station, Trax FM, and slowly worked my way up the schedule.

Then came a brilliant opportunity to work on the news team (you might remember me reading the news!). I loved that as it gave me the chance to get out into the community and find out what was happening in our area. After a few years it felt like the time was right to try something new, but the pull of radio was just too much and now I'm back every weekday morning from 10.

My music taste revolves around a slight obsession with the Beatles and I love a bit of cricket and football (I'll let you guess the team I follow). Oh, and I was a guest at the Queen's 80th birthday celebrations - but I can't say anymore than that or the Secret Service will want a word.
