Coronavirus: Covid-19 affecting Yorkshire dementia patients

Covid-19 is making it more difficult to maintain routines and activities to keep people with dementia well in Doncaster,Rotherham, Barnsley and the Wakefield District.

It estimated over 74 thousand people have some sort of dementia in Yorkshire and the humber.

Judith King from the Alzheimer's Society says it is affecting patients' conditions: "They can't get visits from family and friends, and also they cannot get out and do the things they normally do as part of their routine to help keep them well.

"[We are aiming to] support people who are living with dementia who perhaps don't understand why some of the changes are happening, and are finding it very difficult to adjust to the measures that are in place."
