Firefighters head to Westminster calling for better funding

South Yorkshire fire officers and members of the Fire Brigades Union are heading down to Parliament today (Tuesday) to meet MPs from across our area.

They are calling for more funding - following a near £4million shortfall.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue says it is in order to save money. The service believes having one less crew on a call out is safer than reducing the number of immediately available engines.
