Microchipping could save South Yorkshire rescues thousands of pounds

Compulsory cat microchipping could help rescue centres across our area to save vital amounts of cash - according to South Yorkshire's RSPCA.

It's thought charities wouldn't have to pay as many expensive vet bills - if the owners of injured cats can be tracked down.

The government is looking at bringing in the law, just like it did for dogs in 2015. It is currently investigating the effect the move would have.
