'Up North' Comedy To Air Down South

A funny short film made by a local actor's been picked up by a new TV station in Essex.

A Bolton-upon-Dearne actor's celebrating - after his comedy show that makes fun of life in the Dearne Valley has been picked up by a Southern TV station.

That's an exclusive clip of 'Up North', which'll be aired on local channel 'Essex TV' when it launches in April.

The show's writer and lead actor's Dean Sills - he's told us what we can expect from the programme:

"Basically it's about two families - one who's common as muck, and then it's about me and my wife who live next door to a really posh family. And it's just about how society gets on and really taking the Michael out of Yorkshire people. (sic)"

"I'm hoping it'll put Bolton-upon-Dearne on the map."
