Whiston special needs school to benefit from new hydro pool

Building work is underway on a hydrotherapy pool at Newman School in Whiston.

The one million pound project is being funded by the Department for Education - and is expected to open this summer.

Headteacher at the school - Paul Silvester - says many pupils with special needs struggle to access other pools.

The school has also recently benefited from an accessible path, which was funded by Ray Matthews thanks to his 75 marathons in 75 days challenge.
